白菊の安値の理由
先月の中頃から、白いキクが前年の半値近くまで下がったままである。確かに業界の有識者が言う通り、いくつかの理由が重なっているが、端的に言って出荷量が前年の３０％以上多くなっていることに起因しているものと思われる。1割増の2割安、2割増の半値とは、業界での需給バランスを語る上で共通認識になっているが、3割増だとすると、このように安くなっているのである。
産地の出荷会議などでは、消費の構造的変化を言い、この先も安値が続くような発言をする人もいるが、私の意見としてはただ単に入荷が多い、それで全てが語れるように思う。入荷量が多くなったのは、白菊の代表である秀芳の力から品種の精興の誠や神馬に替わったからであり、坪当たりの製品化率が高く、生産性の高い品種を作っている為にこのようになったのである。日々、相場の変動や一週間スパン、或いは月別の実績を見ておかないと、自分の今の取り組んでいる品目や品種がこの先どのようになっていくか、見通しが立たない。

Why Have Prices of White Chrysanthemums Gone Down?Prices of white chrysanthemums have gone down to approximately half of those of last year since the middle of last month. It is certain that there are some considerable reasons as well-informed people insist, but in my view, the price fall is simply because of the 30% increase of a shipment. It is a common understanding that the price will go down by 20% if there is 10% increase of a shipment and by half against 20% increase. However, more than 30% increase of a shipment will cause a fall in prices like this.
I have found some people in conferences who insist that this kind of phenomenon is caused by the change of the propensity to consume, however, as far as I am concerned, this situation has simply been caused by an over-shipment. Why has the shipment of white chrysanthemums been increased? It is because growers are always seeking ways to increase productivity such as growing "Seiko-no-Makoto" and "Jimba" instead of "Shuho-no-Chikara" which is a typical species of all white chrysanthemums. It is essential to check the weekly or monthly changes of the market price in order to predict which kind of flowers are going to be popular and less popular.
Lastly, we are going to be release a data, related to this kind of information, to growers and customers so that they can take advantage of it, as we are also professional advisers of planting.
